DOROTHY LENNER

Wabi Sabi

Memory, records and marks on the body. A drift by trinkets, memories of things recorded in space and bodies. The weaving of time in gestures, looks, hardness, speech and ears, the softness coming to the fore, and spreading on stage, contaminates a small and intimate audience. These few dozen people, dancing together with the beauty of the lived and its inside out: that still to be lived, the white hair as a counterpoint to the dark, curly, vigorous and young hair, the difficulty against the liveliness of other bodies in full operation. Wabi Sabi is about discovering beauty in imperfection and about accepting the cycle of life and death. It's a haiku launched into space by Dorothy Lenner, Beatriz Sano and Júlia Rocha. All dancing what exists, the moment, what persists, what appears, what repeats, someone who arrives, someone who goes and what it all means. Wabi Sabi is made of glimpses of their history and also of each of the few spectators, who enter as partners in these pas-des-deux and dismantles, in these images and pieces of the incessant movement of life. In a space idealized by Hideki Matsuka and Ricardo Muniz Fernandes, memories and facts, in a first room, compose a relic and affective space, in full contrast to the placidity and oriental minimalism of the second room. Parallel paths that interpenetrate and tell of this intersection that crossed Dorothy Lenner's path. A place to be visited and explored, both by Sesc visitors and by the performances of Dorothy Lenner, Beatriz Sano and Júlia Rocha.
