X Apartments

Fiction and reality, theater and daily life are mixed in a mission to discover other angles of the city, its daily routine and its details. The artistic project X Apartments allows biographies and residences of ordinary people to mix with dance presentations, exhibitions, philosophy, history and theatrical performances, integrated in the daily life of the São Paulo citizen, inhabitant of the city center and its surroundings. During four days, 22 houses and apartments located in the neighborhoods of Bela Vista, Consolação, Higienópolis, República, Santa Cecília and Vila Buarque opened their doors and exhibited, in 3 routes, 22 artistic actions created by national and international artists and non-artists, being them residents of the place or not, headed by names like Rodrigo García, Richard Maxwell (New York City Players), Simon Will (Gob Squad), Enrique Diaz, Daniela Thomas, to name a few. The X Apartments project is an original idea by Matthias Lilienthal, and in partnership with the HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, it has already been carried out in the cities of Duisburg, Berlin, Istanbul, Caracas, Beirut, Athens, Johannesburg, among others.
